Aleksandr Gutsan, during a meeting with the General Prosecutor of the Supreme Court of Appeal of the Republic of Türkiye, Muhsin Şentürk, noted that relations between Russia and Türkiye have been successfully developing for many years and are based on the solid principles of mutual respect and trust.
"This is greatly facilitated by the wise policy of the leaders of our countries – the President of the Russian Federation, Mr. Vladimir Putin, and the President of the Republic of Türkiye, Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan," said the head of the Russian supervisory authority.
The Prosecutor General of Russia particularly emphasized the high level of Russian-Turkish cooperation in the trade and economic sphere, as well as in the areas of legal assistance in criminal matters, the search for and extradition of criminals.
"We share a common approach to resolving international problems that have become a threat to the entire global community. First and foremost, this concerns countering terrorism, cybercrime, illegal migration, drug trafficking, and money laundering," said the Prosecutor General of Russia. "In all these areas, Russian and Turkish prosecutors have accumulated significant experience, and we are ready to exchange best practices."
Aleksandr Gutsan expressed confidence that after the signing of the Cooperation Program today, the interaction between the two countries' agencies will receive a new impetus for development.
The document provides for conducting joint activities aimed at combating crimes in the field of information and communication technologies, introducing artificial intelligence into the work of prosecutorial authorities, combating drug trafficking and money laundering, as well as exchanging methodological materials on core areas of activity.
The Prosecutor General of Russia stated that the potential for cooperation is not limited solely to program activities, and therefore expressed interest in expanding it into other areas, including on the basis of departmental educational institutions. The head of the Russian supervisory authority invited Turkish colleagues to the University of the Prosecutor's Office of Russia for advanced training courses for foreign prosecutorial staff.
"In conclusion, I want to emphasize once again that the Prosecutor's Office of Russia is open to cooperation on any matters of mutual interest," said Aleksandr Gutsan.
Following the meeting, the parties signed a Cooperation Program between the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation and the General Prosecution Office of the Supreme Court of Appeal of the Republic of Türkiye for 2026-2027.
