This is the Prosecutor General of Russia's first foreign working visit of the year. At the airport, the head of the Russian supervisory authority was met by the Chargé d'Affaires of the Russian Federation in the Republic of Türkiye, Alexey Ivanov, and the General Prosecutor of the Supreme Court of Appeal of the Republic of Türkiye, Muhsin Şentürk.
In Ankara, Aleksandr Gutsan will hold negotiations with his counterpart and also meet with the Minister of Justice of Türkiye. During these meetings, the parties plan to sign international documents aimed at strengthening and further developing bilateral relations with each of the respective authorities.
For reference: The interaction between the Prosecutor General’s Office of Russia and the relevant authorities of Türkiye is systematic and methodical, carried out both bilaterally and multilaterally, including at various international platforms such as the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF) and the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO). Representatives of the Prosecutor General’s Office of Russia also regularly participate in interagency Russian-Turkish consultations on extradition, legal assistance, law enforcement cooperation in criminal matters, and other issues of mutual interest.
