At the request of the Prosecutor General's Office of the Russian Federation, the competent authorities of the People's Republic of China are extraditing Aslambek Ortsuev for him to face criminal prosecution under Article 291.1, Parts 2 and 3 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (mediation in bribery).
According to the investigation, between 2020 and 2023, Ortsuev acted as an intermediary in the transfer of bribes from students to officials of a branch of one of the capital's higher education institutions located in the Moscow Region for knowingly unlawful actions during the educational process. Specifically, these actions pertained to admission to examinations, the awarding of credits, as well as the successful defense of diploma papers without actually undergoing the examinations.
The accused fled from law enforcement authorities; and at the instruction of the Prosecutor General's Office of Russia, he was placed on the international wanted list.
A request for the extradition of the fugitive was sent by the Russian supervisory authority following Ortsuev's detention in China. As a result, a decision on extradition was secured.
Ortsuev will be escorted to Moscow by officers of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia and the NCB Interpol of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia.

China to extradite an accused of committing corruption-related offenses
