Text

At the request of the Prosecutor General's Office of the Russian Federation, the competent authorities of the United Arab Emirates are extraditing Rustem Ganeev for him to face criminal prosecution under Article 159, Part 4 of the Russian Criminal Code (fraud).

According to investigators, in 2017, in Kazan, the accused entered into a vehicle purchase and sale agreement on behalf of a commercial organization. At the same time, having received RUB 1.2 million from the victim, he did not intend to fulfill his obligations. In 2019, he also borrowed RUB 15 million from another victim, offering two apartments as collateral that did not actually belong to him.

The accused fled from law enforcement; and by order of the Prosecutor General's Office of Russia, he was placed on the international wanted list.

Thanks to the close cooperation between the Russian supervisory authority and foreign colleagues, a positive decision on the extradition of the accused was obtained.

Accompanied by officers of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia and the INTERPOL NCB of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, Ganeev will be delivered to Moscow.
