Within the framework of the working visit to Myanmar, Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation Igor Krasnov was received by Chairman of the State Administration Council, Prime Minister, Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar Min Aung Hlaing.

In his welcoming speech, the Prosecutor General of Russia thanked for the hospitality and attention shown to the Russian delegation.

Igor Krasnov noted that Myanmar is a reliable partner of Russia. Our countries have been linked by 75 years of diplomatic relations, which in recent years have been characterized by the intensive development of mutually beneficial cooperation in various fields, including the military sphere.

The Prosecutor General of Russia said that the agency he heads plays a key role in ensuring the rule of law, exercises supreme supervision of the law compliance and coordinates the activities of law enforcement agencies to combat crime. He also said that the Chief Military Prosecutor's Office is subordinate to him, which supervises the rule of law in the Armed Forces.

“In the course of negotiations with the Attorney General of Myanmar, we agreed to strengthen cooperation on a wide range of issues of mutual interest,” said Igor Krasnov. “We will use all available tools for this and are ready to share our experience and best practices in prosecutorial activity.”

The head of the Russian supervisory agency said that he suggested to his colleagues that they consider the possibility of training Myanmar prosecutors in advanced training programs at the University of the Prosecutor's Office of Russia, and to carry out a regular exchange of delegations. He also noted the possibility of holding training events in Myanmar on a systematic basis with the participation of our experts and teachers from the Military University of the Russian Ministry of Defence.

“My subordinates and I are always focused on constructive cooperation in any mutually acceptable forms,” the Prosecutor General of Russia emphasized.

Finally, Igor Krasnov expressed his gratitude to Min Aung Hlaing for the warm welcome and wished success in solving important public tasks, and the people of Myanmar - well-being, peace and prosperity.
