A meeting was held at the Prosecutor General's Office of the Russian Federation with the delegation of the Prosecutor General's Office of the Republic of Abkhazia

As part of the implementation of the Cooperation Program between the Prosecutor General's Office of the Russian Federation and the Prosecutor General's Office of the Republic of Abkhazia for 2019-2020, a seminar was held on the organization and implementation of prosecutorial supervision over compliance with laws on combating extremist activities and terrorism, as well as on countering foreign terrorist fighters.

The Abkhazian delegation was headed by Deputy Military Prosecutor of the Republic of Abkhazia, Tarba Ruslan Borisovich.

The Russian party was represented by the Head of the Department for Supervision over Compliance with Laws on Federal Security, Interethnic Relations, Countering Extremism and Terrorism, Yuri Pavlovich Khokhlov. The meeting was also attended by the members of this Department and a representative of the University of the Prosecutor General's Office of the Russian Federation.

During the event, exchange of experience took place on organization of prosecutorial supervision in both countries over compliance with laws aimed at combating extremist activities and terrorism. The discussion was focused on countering foreign terrorist fighters, best practices to suppress the spread of the ideology of extremism and terrorism on the Internet; special attention was paid to combating radicalization and violent extremism.

The parties agreed on further cooperation in the framework of the implementation of the said Program.
