Mr. Yury CHAYKA, Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation, has met with Ms. Zagorka DOLOVAC, Republic Public Prosecutor of the Republic of Serbia

Today, on June 6, 2019, within the framework of the working visit to the Saint Petersburg International Economic Forum, Mr. Yury CHAYKA, Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation, has met with Ms. Zagorka DOLOVAC, Republic Public Prosecutor of the Republic of Serbia.

Welcoming the colleague, he mentioned the importance of the forum, which had been contributing to resolving key problems of the present, forming the agenda of wide international cooperation for more than two decades. Moreover, the event is a good ground for public informing of business society about the measures taken by the prosecution services of Russia and Serbia to suppress violations of the rights of entrepreneurs and investors.

Mr. Yury CHAYKA estimated the meeting with the Republic Public Prosecutor of the Republic of Serbia as an opportunity to lay down prospects of further cooperation, including concerning the implementation of interagency cooperation programs.

He told that the Program, signed by the prosecutors last year in Belgrade, was being implemented successfully then.

Russian and Serbian experts shared experience in relevant aspects of prosecutorial activity. Issues concerning participation of prosecutors in combating organized crime, trade in persons, illegal migration, crimes of terrorist nature and use of the Internet for criminal purpose were discussed.

The Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation expressed his assurance that the vector of development of Russian-Serbian relations as regards prosecution services, would contribute to successful combating new challenges and threats, increasing the effectiveness of efforts to ensure the rule of law.

Concluding, Mr. Yury CHAYKA thanked Ms. Zagorka DOLOVAC for the invitation to visit Serbia once again and accepted the invitation having included the visit in his working schedule. He appreciated the level of cooperation between prosecution services of Russia and Serbia and expressed his assurance that it would further develop in the same constructive and progressive way.
