A meeting with representatives of the US Embassy was held in the Prosecutor General’s Office at the request of the American party. Urgent issues of cooperation were discussed in the area of combating crime and other violations of the Federal legislation of Russia and the USA.
The parties noted with satisfaction that the Prosecutor General’s Office of Russia and the law enforcement authorities of the USA continue to promote the implementation of the Treaty on Mutual Legal Assistance in Criminal Matters of 1999, and to find ways to respond to the challenges they face in combating crime and other violations in the areas which have not yet been addressed by bilateral treaties.
In addition, the parties exchanged information and documents in the framework of implementation of international commitments of Russia and the USA on crime combating. The parties also agreed to maintain regular contacts with the competent federal authorities of the USA and the US Embassy in Moscow.
