Russia-Vietnam roundtable on organizing prosecutorial supervision over execution of legislation on combating corruption held at the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation

Under the Programme of Cooperation between the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation and the Supreme People’s Procuracy of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam for 2014 -2015, a roundtable meeting was held on Organizing prosecutorial supervision over execution of legislation on combating corruption, including anti-corruption expert review of legal acts and their drafts.

The roundtable was chaired by Yuri Semin, Head of the Department for Supervision over execution of legislation on combating corruption. The meeting was also attended by the Deputy Head of this Department, Aslan Yusufov, and other staff members of the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation.

The Vietnamese delegation was headed by Lyung Xin Chon, Deputy Head of the Department for the Support of Public Prosecution and Supervision of the Investigation of Corruption Cases of the Supreme People’s Procuracy of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam. The meeting was also attended by Nguyen Chong Vinh, Deputy Head of Department of Research and Prosecutorial Institute of the Supreme People’s Procuracy of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.

The parties exchanged opinions regarding issues of organization of prosecutorial supervision over execution of legislation on combating corruption in the Russian Federation and in the Republic of Vietnam, including anti-corruption expert review of legal acts and their drafts conducted by public prosecution bodies.

Representatives of the Supreme People’s Procuracy of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam explained the role of the prosecution bodies of Vietnam in combating corruption and specified some legal requirements in Vietnam aimed at increasing effectiveness of anti-corruption measures.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the parties agreed to continue effective joint work under the Programme of Cooperation.
