Today, on November 24, 2014, during the opening ceremony of the 19th Annual Conference and General Meeting of the International Association of Prosecutors (IAP), the Prosecutor General's Office of the Russian Federation was awarded with the IAP’s Certificate of Merit for holding the 18th Annual Conference and General Meeting of the Association in 2013 in Moscow.
The award was received by the Russian Prosecutor General Yuri Chaika. He thanked the Association for honoring the work and expressed his sincere gratitude to the Secretary General of the Association Derk Kuipers, as well as all members of the Secretariat of the Association for their professional work and the assistance provided.
Yuri Chaika wished the Conference participants fruitful and interesting work on the forum and expressed his confidence that the Conference would further unite the ranks of the Association members and attract new participants into it, strengthen mutual understanding and improve the efficiency of international prosecutorial community’s work aimed at ensuring the rule of law and the protection of human rights.
Earlier, in 2013, the West Baikal Interdistrict Environmental Prosecutor's Office was awarded with an honorary award For Outstanding Achievements for its contribution to the protection of Lake Baikal inscribed in the UNESCO World Heritage List.

The Prosecutor General's Office of the Russian Federation was awarded with the Certificate of Merit from the International Association of Prosecutors
