The delegation of the General Prosecutor's office of the Russian Federation, headed by the Deputy Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation Alexander Zvyagintsev who is a member of the Executive Committee of the International Association of prosecutors (IAP), participated in the 17-th Annual conference and General meeting of IAP in Bangkok (The Kingdom of Thailand).
The forum was dedicated to the theme: «Transnational organized criminality: its penetration into other areas of criminality and the role of Prosecutor». In the course of the Conference the representatives of the General Prosecutor's office of the Russian Federation took the floor, particularly in the discussion of issues of return of the assets obtained in a criminal way, the counteraction of violations in the sphere of environmental protection, the fight against cybernetic criminality and developments of the Manual on the status and the role of prosecutors under the auspices of the UN and the IAP.
At the final session of the Conference, by the Russian delegation it was carried out a presentation of the 18th Annual conference and Generaд meeting of the IAP which will be held in Moscow in September 2013. The overall theme of the upcoming Moscow conference is «Public Prosecutor and the supremacy of law».
Moreover, by the delegation of the General Prosecutor's office of the Russian Federation there were held bilateral meetings with the Chairman of Eurojust, a body of the European Union for the implementation of cooperation upon criminal cases as well as with foreign colleagues from more than 20 countries, in the course of which there were discussed topical issues of development of cooperation including the issues in the field of extradition and rendering of legal assistance in criminal cases.
Deputy Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation Alexander Zvyagintsev and the Prosecutor General of Thailand Tyulasing Vasantasing signed an Agreement on cooperation between the General Prosecutor's office of the Russian Federation and the General Prosecutor's office of the Kingdom of Thailand.
More than 400 people, from 82 countries of the world and from a number of international bodies and organizations, participated in the work of the Conference and General meeting.
