Thanks to the cooperation of the Prosecutor General’s Offices of Russia and Belorussia persons accused of a number of crimes have been extradited

The Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation continues to cooperate actively with law enforcement agencies of foreign countries in combating crime.

Thus, the Russian Prosecutor General’s Office has granted the requests of the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Republic of Belarus for extradition of six fugitives, accused of crimes committed in the Republic of Belarus, for the purpose of their prosecution.

Mr. Andrey GIRINOVICH is accused of illegal entry into a house and theft of property.

Mr. Dmitry KUZNETSOV is accused of stealing property from a car in the spring of 2014, in Dobrush, Republic of Belarus, acting as a member of a group of persons, by preliminary agreement. In June 2014, he got into a territory of a building under construction and stole property, acting as a member of a group of persons, by preliminary agreement.

Mr. Vadim MELNIKOV is accused of infliction in a state of alcoholic intoxication of at least 7 blows with his hands and feet to another person, causing grievous bodily harm, in June 2020, in Gomel, Republic of Belarus. He subsequently committed a robbery.

Moreover, the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation granted the

request of the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Republic of Belarus for extradition of Mr. Maksim SPASIBKO with the purpose of carrying out of a sentence imposed by the Court of the Central District of Minsk, Republic of Belarus. SPASIBKO was found guilty of illegal purchase with other persons, for the purpose of selling, in October 2010, of a large amount of especially dangerous psychotropic substance, namely, amphetamine, with a total weight of 47.83 g, as well as a dangerous narcotic drug, namely, marijuana with a total weight of 0.49 g (in dry form), which he kept until his arrest.

Moreover, Mr. Nikolay SHELEPEN and Mr. Dmitry PORETSKY, accused of the crimes against the individual and property, have been surrendered to the law enforcement agencies of the Republic of Belarus.

Simultaneously with extradition of fugitives to the Republic of Belarus, two persons accused of hooliganism and thefts were surrendered to the Russian Federation.

The surrender of the above persons was carried out in the Smolensk Region in compliance with necessary security measures given the epidemiologic situation.
