Germany extradited Russian national accused of illegal turnover of narcotic drugs

The Federal Republic of Germany extradited Roman Korsunsky to Russia upon request of the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation.

He is accused of a crime, envisaged by Article 228(2) of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (illegal purchase, storage of narcotic drugs).

According to the investigation, in October 2017, Mr. Korsunsky, being in the territory of the Losiny Ostrov National Park in Moscow, purchased for personal use psychotropic substance, which he stored until detention by the police officers.

Since Mr. Korsunsky fled from the law enforcement bodies, upon instruction of the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation, he was declared internationally wanted.

In February 2020, due to the fact that he was established in the territory of Germany, the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation sent a request for his extradition, which was complied with.

Officers of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia and Russian Bureau of Interpol escorted Mr. Korsunsky to Russia.
