Russia extradited to Tajikistan 7 citizens accused of different crimes, including against public order and security

The Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation has granted the request of the competent authorities of the Republic of Tajikistan for the extradition of 7 citizens of this state with the view of their criminal prosecution. All of them are accused of the commission, at different times, in the territory of Tajikistan and Russia, of several crimes, including attempted murder and robbery, illegal trafficking of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances, misappropriation of large sums of money and forgery of official documents. In addition, one of the accused was sought for the intentional infecting of three women with HIV.

Thus, I. Nurmatov is accused of attempting, together with his accomplices, to commit robbery against the company owner in the city of Khujand, the Republic of Tajikistan, and to take possession of his property in the amount of 30 thousand US dollars. He could not bring his intention to the end due to circumstances beyond his control, as his accomplices were detained, and he himself fled.

D. Tojikulov and A. Karakhonov are accused of illegal sale in the city of Dushanbe and in the Sughd region of Tajikistan of narcotic drugs – 165 gm of heroin and 9264 gm of opium, which is deemed large quantities.

A. Sharifov is accused of having infected his partner while in Samara, knowing that he had HIV infection. A few years later, he infected two more women in the Republic of Tajikistan.

M. Nazarov, working as a credit inspector of OOO “Agroinvestbank” branch in the Varzob region, the Republic of Tajikistan, in the period 2009-2015, forged official documents and arranged for illegal loans to be issued for 14 citizens, without their knowledge, in the amount of 44 439 somoni and 21 904 US dollars. Then he stole the money thereby causing the damage to the bank on an especially large scale.

The above persons were detained in the territory of Russia. The decisions of the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation on their extradition have entered into legal force, therefore the Federal Penitentiary Service was instructed to carry out their surrender.

These persons will be received and handed over through the crossing point of the State border of the Russian Federation in the territory of Moscow, subject to all security measures.
