A person accused of a crime committed 10 years ago was extradited from India to Russia

At the request of the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation, the competent authorities of the Republic of India extradited Pyotr Shalaginov to Russia.

He is accused of the crime provided for by Article 228 (2) of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (illegal storage of narcotic drugs without the purpose of selling them).

According to the criminal case materials, in November 2011, Shalaginov acquired, without the purpose of selling, a narcotic drug – cannabis in an especially large amount which he illegally stored at the place of his actual residence in Moscow.

Due to the fact that the accused fled from the law enforcement authorities, he was put on the international wanted list.

In June 2018, Shalaginov was detained in the territory of India, after which the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation sent a request for his extradition to the foreign colleagues, and the request was granted.

Pyotr Shalaginov will be taken to Moscow accompanied by officers of a special convoy.
