A citizen accused of fraud with maternity capital worth more than 26 million rubles was extradited from France to Russia
  Text

At the request of the Prosecutor General's Office of the Russian Federation, the competent authorities of the French Republic extradited Magomed Sulimanov to Russia for his criminal prosecution.

He is accused of the crimes under Article 159.2 (4) of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (fraud in receiving payments on an especially large scale) and Article 30 (3), Article 159.2 (4) of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (attempted fraud in receiving payments on an especially large scale).

According to the investigation, from January to July 2012, in the city of Mozdok of the Republic of North Ossetia-Alania, Sulimanov, being an active member of an organized criminal group, fraudulently stole money allocated for the implementation of measures of state support for families with children. The money was credited to the settlement account of KPK “Uspekh” from the Governmental Organization-Division of the Pension Fund of the Russian Federation in the Mozdok District of the Republic of North Ossetia-Alania as repayment of non-existent loan debts of 72 holders of maternity capital (family) certificates.

As a result, a damage on an especially large scale of over 26 million rubles was caused to the federal budget of the Russian Federation.

In addition, from January to April 2012, Sulimanov tried to receive payments from 4 holders of maternity capital certificates in the amount of 1.4 million rubles using the same scheme.

Due to the fact that Sulimanov fled from the law enforcement bodies, he was put on the federal wanted list, and then, at the request of the Prosecutor General's Office of the Russian Federation he was placed on the international wanted list.

In July 2019, he was detained in France, after which the Russian Prosecutor General's Office sent a request for his extradition to foreign colleagues. In October 2019, the competent authorities of the French Republic granted this request, but the accused appealed against this decision, and his surrender was postponed.

Magomed Sulimanov will be taken to Moscow accompanied by a special convoy.
