Citizens charged with committing several crimes were extradited owing to the interaction between the Prosecutor General’s Offices of Russia and Tajikistan

The Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation is continuing its active collaboration with law enforcement agencies of foreign states in combating crime.

Thus, the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation extradited 8 citizens for criminal prosecution to the competent bodies of the Republic of Tajikistan.

Nasratsho Dzhonmirzoev is accused of firing at the car of law enforcement officers from a machine gun in July 1996 in the city of Khorog, the Republic of Tajikistan. The attack resulted in the death of the head of the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Khorog Department of Internal Affairs, police officer of the same unit, forensic medical expert, and a local resident.

Ikromjon Boronov is accused of developing a plan for the sale and smuggling of narcotic drugs to Russia in September 2009, together with his accomplices.

Thus, one of the accomplices found a woman who was to traffic narcotic drugs in her child’s clothes for a monetary reward. Another accomplice bought heroin in large quantity of 416 g, air tickets and a kid’s jacket in which he hid the drugs jointly with the participants of the criminal group. Boronov, in his turn, controlled the actions of the accomplices by telephone and was to meet a female courier in the Russian Federation.

However, she was detained at the Khujand international airport during a customs inspection. The drug hidden in the child’s jacket was seized.

Firuz Safarov is charged on the following grounds: having entered into a preliminary conspiracy with other persons, he illegally acquired, stored and transported 1990 grams of the drug, in Dushanbe, in September 2012. His accomplice was detained when attempting to sell the drug, and the substance was seized.

Mirzoali Davlatov is accused of illegally entering the victim’s house in November 2019 in the Rudaki region, acting in collusion with other persons, and secretly stealing the property worth 78,700 somoni.

Davron Berdiev is accused on the following ground: in February 2020, being sergeant of the guard and supply company of military unit 0201, the General Department of Border Guards, the State Committee for National Security of the Republic of Tajikistan, in the Sughd region, he left the unit without official leave and was illegally absent from the place of service for more than a month.

Emomali Salimov is accused that being called up for active military service and while serving in military unit 5453, the Department of Internal Troops, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan, he left on a short-term vacation, after which, without good reason, he did not arrive at the unit and escaped.

Also extradited are Akmal Yunusov, accused of a major fraud, and Idris Nazarov, charged with beating a minor for hooligan motives.

After establishing the whereabouts of the above persons in the territory of the Russian Federation, the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Republic of Tajikistan sent requests for the extradition of the accused to the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation, and these requests were granted.

The decisions of the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation to extradite these persons have entered into legal force, and the Federal Penitentiary Service was instructed to transfer them.

The transfer of the criminal defendants was complicated by the epidemiological situation caused by the COVID infection.


Accompanied by a special convoy, in accordance with the necessary safety measures, the accused were handed over to the law enforcement agencies of the Republic of Tajikistan.
