Igor Krasnov, Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation, and Magali Marin Young, Attorney General of Belize, have signed the Program of Joint Events for 2022-2023

Igor Krasnov, Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation, has hold a meeting with Magali Marin Young, Attorney General of Belize, in the format of a videoconference.

Having welcomed his colleague, Igor Krasnov noted that Russia and Belize were united by a common goal pertaining to countering transnational crime and ensuring the inevitability of punishment for law violations.

The Prosecutor General emphasized that the agreement regarding the cooperation with the Attorney General’s Ministry of Belize signed in May 2021 was in demand, and he expressed his gratitude to Magali Marin Young for the assistance within the framework of execution of international legal requests, and mentioned the high quality and completeness of materials received.

The Program of Joint Events for 2022-2023 aimed at the practical implementation of the Cooperation Agreement and the Treaty on Basic Relations between the Russian Federation and Belize dated September 25, 2018, was signed during the meeting.

The Program comprised the most topical issues of great concern to the international procuratorial community, namely the fight against cybercrime, including of terrorism nature, illegal turnover of cryptocurrency, environmental crimes, corruption, and issues of legal assistance in criminal matters, search, seizure, confiscation and recovery of illegal assets.

Meanwhile, Igor Krasnov mentioned that the Russian side was ready for a dialogue on any other problem, if there was a need to tackle new challenges and threats in a prompt way.

Finally, Igor Krasnov wished the prosecutors’ team of Belize new professional achievements and invited Magali Marin Young to come to Moscow to take part in the commemorative activities dedicated to the 300th anniversary of the Russian Prosecution Service.
