Russia extradited to Uzbekistan a citizen accused of especially large fraud

The Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation has granted the request of the competent authorities of the Republic of Uzbekistan for extradition of Mr. Zhasur Saidaminov for making him criminally liable.

He is accused of committing a crime, envisaged by Article 168, part 4, paragraph “a” of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan (fraud).

During the preliminary investigation it was established that from June 2018 to August 20, 2019, in the Kibraisky District of the Republic of Uzbekistan, being a dangerous recidivist, Mr. Saidaminov by deceit and abuse of trust misappropriated funds of the victim in an especially large amount of more than 277 million of Uzbek sum.

After committing the crime, he escaped from the law enforcement authorities and was declared wanted.

Since he was established on the territory of the Russian Federation, the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Republic of Uzbekistan prepared a request for his extradition.

The decision of the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation on the extradition of Mr. Saidaminov came into force, and the Federal Penitentiary Service was entrusted to carry out his handover

.Accompanied by a special escort, Mr. Zhasur Saidaminov will be delivered to Tashkent.
