Spain extradited to Russia an executive of a contracting entity, charged with the stealing 384 mln rubles during the construction of the Olympic object in Sochi

Upon request of the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation the competent authorities of the Kingdom of Spain are extraditing national of the Russian Federation Ivan Vandyshev to Russia.

He is accused of a crime, envisaged by Article 159 part 4 (fraud, on especially large scale) of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.

The investigation established that on March 20, 2012, the GKU “Main Construction Department of the Krasnodar Region”, being a customer on construction of an object “Bzugu sewerage treatment facility”, concluded state contract on contractor’s work with the OOO “LSM Lenstroymontazh”. This was done in compliance with the targeted program of the Krasnodar region “Construction of the Olympic objects and development of Sochi as the alpine and balneological resort”.

In the period from April 13, 2012 to December 31, 2013, in the performance of the contract, the customer transferred more than 1 bln rubles as the prepayment to the contacting entity OOO “LSM Lenstroymontazh”. Factual executive of the contracting entity, Mr. Vandyshev, withdrawn more than 384 mln rubles from the said money and used them at his own discretion. Thus, GKU “GUS KK” was inflicted damage on especially large scale.

The accused fled from the law enforcement authorities and in October 2018, upon instruction of the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation, he was declared wanted.

In February 2020, in connection with the message of the Spanish party on his detention on the territory of the said country, the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation, sent a request for his extradition, which was satisfied in September 2021.

Today special convoy is to escort Ivan Vandyshev to Moscow.
