Gruzd was charged with the offence of repeatedly driving a car in Minsk while being impaired by alcohol. At that time he had been brought to administrative liability in the form of a fine for driving under influence and deprived of the right to drive vehicles for three years.

At the same time, the Belarusian side handed over a Russian citizen Alexander Pokosovskiy to the law enforcement authorities of the Russian Federation.

He had been wanted for the purposes of brining to justice pursuant to Article 158 paragraph 2 sub-paragraph “в” (theft), Article 159 paragraph 2 (fraud), Article 162 paragraph 2 (assault with intend to rob) of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.

As per the investigation, in July 2018, while being on a stair landing of one of the buildings of the town of Odintsovo of the Moscow Region, Pokosovskiy covertly stole bicycles of local residents. In addition, on July 22, 2018, while being in the town of Odintsovo, the accused and an unidentified person inflicted multiple punches and kicks towards the head of an unknown person and stole his bag. In January 2019, Pokosovsky stole a mobile phone under the pretext of making a call. In the same month, while paying a visit, he stole one more phone.

Since Pokosovsky had fled from the court, a preventive measure in the form of taking into custody was imposed on him, and he was also put on the wanted list.
