Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation Igor Krasnov met Minister of Justice of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Walid bin Mohammed al-Samaani

A meeting between Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation Igor Krasnov and  Minister of Justice of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Walid bin Mohammed al-Samaani took place in the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation.

When greeting his foreign colleague, Igor Krasnov noted that thanks to the efforts of leaders of both States, the Russian-Saudi relations are on the rise and have common direction, aimed at strengthening peace and security.

Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation expressed his interest in consistent implementation of practical steps towards each other and welcomed any form of cooperation.

He mentioned an important role of the Ministry of Justice of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in the implementation, upon initiative of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, of a large-scale project on social and economic reforms “Vision 2030”, which inter alia provides for transformations in the judicial and law enforcement systems.

Igor Krasnov told about powers of the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation and attracted attention of foreign colleagues to possible points of contact, having expressed his hope that the meeting would become an impulse to fruitful cooperation between agencies of both states, including the exchange of experience and best practices. Igor Krasnov said: “We can effectively fight transnational crime only by coordinating our common actions”.

According to the Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation, electronic circulation of documents, development of legislation on the use of cryptocurrency, on counteraction to cybercrime, on protection of family and rights of minors, including from domestic violence, are of special interest.

At the same time, Igor Krasnov noted readiness of the Russian Party, which has sufficient experience in different spheres, to support initiatives of colleges from Saudi Arabia. He suggested that a representative of the Ministry of Justice should be included into the delegation, which would get acquainted with educational programs of foreign prosecutors in the University of the Prosecutors Service of the Russian Federation.

In conclusion the head of the Russian supervision authority asked to pass his compliments to the Prosecutor General of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Saud Ibn Abdullah Al Muajeb Al-Sharif and invited colleagues to Moscow to ceremonial events, dedicated to the three hundred years anniversary of the Prosecution Service as honored guests.
