Russia has surrendered a person accused of large-scale misappropriation to Uzbekistan

The Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation upon the request of the competent authorities of the Republic of Uzbekistan has granted extradition of Mr. Sardor AKHUNOV for the purpose of his criminal prosecution.

The fugitive is accused of the crime, stipulated in Article 167, part 2 “a, c, d” of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan (embezzlement).

During the preliminary investigation it was established that from August to October 2018, in Tashkent, Mr. AKHUNOV, being the Director of “Tentorium plus” LLC, misusing his authority, counterfeited and used false invoices and repairing works completion certificates, by which he embezzled the large amount of money funds entrusted to him.

After committing the crime, Mr. AKHUNOV fled from law-enforcement authorities and was placed on the wanted list.

In connection with the fugitive’s location in the Russian Federation, the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Republic of Uzbekistan requested his extradition.

The decision of the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation to grant extradition of Mr. AKHUNOV became final. The Federal Penitentiary Service of the Russian Federation was instructed to surrender him.

Mr. AKHUNOV has been convoyed to Tashkent.
