National accused of theft of animals extradited to Russia from Morocco

At the request of the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation, the competent authorities of the Kingdom of Morocco extradited Shamil Salikhov to Russia.

He is accused of committing the crimes provided for by Article 158 (2) (a, b, c) (theft) of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.

According to the investigation, from October to December 2015, in Kalmykia, Salikhov with accomplices committed a theft of five horses, a foal and two cows, causing significant material damage to the victims.

Since Salikhov fled from the preliminary investigation authorities, he was placed on the international wanted list.

In March 2021, he was detained in the territory of Morocco, and after that the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation sent a request for extradition of the accused for criminal prosecution to foreign colleagues, and it was granted.

Accompanied by a special escort, Shamil Salikhov was delivered to Moscow.
