  Text

At the request of the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation the competent authorities of the Republic of Armenia extradited Aram Bichakhchyan to Russia.

He is accused of a crime, envisaged by Article 322.1 part 2 paragraph “a” of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (organization of illegal stay of foreign nationals in the Russian Federation, committed by a group of persons in a preliminary conspiracy).

According to the investigation, Bichakhchyan and his accomplices organized illegal stay of 14 foreign nationals in the Russian Federation. They were fictitiously registered at the place of stay in a dwelling in the territory of the Kaluga Region.

As the accused escaped from the bodies of preliminary investigation, he was put on the international wanted list.

In September 2021, he had been detained in the territory of Armenia, after which the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation sent a request to the foreign colleagues for extradition of the accused, which was granted.

Escorted by special convoy, Aram Bichakhchyan will be delivered to Moscow.
