The accused of attempted illegal sale of narcotic drugs was extradited to Russia from Spain

Upon request of the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation competent authorities of the Kingdom of Spain extradited Evgeniy Terebov to Russia. He is accused of two crimes, envisaged by Article 30 part 3, Article 228.1 part 5 (attempted illegal sale of narcotic drugs) of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.

Criminal case is being investigated by the Investigative Division of the Department of the Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation for the city of Saint Petersburg and Leningrad Region.

The preliminary investigation established that in October 2018, having entered into criminal concert with other persons, Mr. Terebov acquired cannabis in especially large scale on the territory of the city of Saint Petersburg and Leningrad Region for the purposes of further sale and personal illegal enrichment. However the above stated activities have not been finalized by him due to the circumstances beyond his control.

Since Mr. Terebov escaped from the law enforcement authorities, upon instruction of the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation he was declared internationally wanted. He was detained on the territory of the Kingdom of Spain.

Owing to coordinated activities of the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation and organized close cooperation with the competent authorities of the Kingdom of Spain, positive decision on extradition of the criminal was achieved.

Evgeniy Terebov will be brought to Russia by the special convoy.
