A participant of a criminal association has been extradited to France for the execution of the sentence

The Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation has granted a request of the Ministry of Justice of the French Republic pertaining to the extradition of Mr. Misak Avdalyan for the execution of the sentence of the Criminal Court of Rennes.   

Thus, the subject has been found guilty of the participation in the criminal association from July 2016 till June 2017, formed, inter alia, for organizing prostitution. Besides, he broke into an apartment, in an organized group, with violence, and stole about 1000 euro away from the victims. Additionally, having been detained for these crimes in June 2017 in Paris, Mr. Avdalyan escaped from detention.    

In this regard, he was declared wanted. The Criminal Court of Rennes issued warrants for his arrest. On July 2, 2021 the culprit was arrested in Russia.

Mr. Avdalyan’s actions are punishable under the Russian law and comply with Article 210, part 2 (participation in a criminal association), Article 162, part 4, clause «a» (robbery, committed by an organized group with illegal entry into a home), Article 313, part 1 (escape from custody) of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. Criminal penalties of the mentioned articles provide for the punishment of deprivation of liberty for a term of more than one year. Limitations of the execution of the sentence have not expired under the law of the Russian Federation and the French Republic. 

The decision of the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation pertaining to the extradition of Mr. Avdalyan has taken a legal effect. Today the Federal Penitentiary Service has transferred him to the competent authorities of France.
