On behalf of the Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation Igor Krasnov, representatives of the supervisory agency took part in the International Conference on Combating Crimes Committed Using Information and Communication Technologies in St. Petersburg.
The event, which brought together over 200 representatives of law enforcement and other government agencies, as well as scientific and educational organizations from more than 20 countries, discussed issues related to the prevention, detection and investigation of these socially dangerous acts, the improvement of legal regulation and the development of international cooperation in the fight against cybercrime.
Officers of the Prosecutor General's Office of Russia gave speeches at the plenary session of the Conference, the workshop of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence-Building Measures in Asia "Exchange of experience of CICA member states in the field of combating the use of information and communication technologies for criminal purposes"" and "Digital currency: international and national experience in investigating crimes and interaction" round table, sharing advanced Russian experience in combating information crime and calling on the international community to sign the UN Convention against Cybercrime for its prompt application in practice.
Following the event, recommendations were developed to improve the effectiveness of international cooperation in the field of combating the use of information and telecommunications technologies for criminal purposes.
