The meeting held in Suzdal was dedicated to interaction in the field of strengthening traditional spiritual and moral values, perpetuating the memory of defenders of the Fatherland, victims of nazism and fascism. It was attended by members of the Joint Board from the Russian and Belarusian sides.

Welcoming the participants, Igor Krasnov noted that the ancient city of Suzdal is rightfully considered the cradle of our common history, culture, the keeper of the memory of many generations, and the traditional values common to fraternal peoples.

"It is also symbolic that we have gathered in the homeland and final resting place of the national hero, Prince Dmitry Pozharsky, who led the fight against the Polish-Lithuanian invaders in difficult times of turmoil," the Prosecutor General of Russia emphasized. “More than 400 years have passed since then. And, as Nikolai Mikhailovich Karamzin rightly noted, "history, being an example of the future, continues its cycle."

The head of the Russian supervisory agency drew the participants' attention to attempts to impose alien and destructive ideas, to which the Union State of Russia and Belarus is subjected in the context of a hybrid confrontation with Western countries: "Propaganda of immorality, denial of family ideals, erasure of historical truth, rehabilitation of nazism - these are the challenges that we face today. Of particular concern is their focus on our children, the younger generation."

Igor Krasnov spoke about the joint fight against attempts to sink into oblivion the feat of the Soviet people in World War II, which is especially relevant in the year of the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory. "There is no statute of limitations for the atrocities of the fascists, and we continue to work with archives and evidence of the genocide of the peoples of the Soviet Union unleashed by the Nazi invaders," said the Prosecutor General of Russia. "To date, all of them have been established by judicial acts."

During the board meeting, additional measures to protect spiritual and moral values and perpetuate the memory of the victims of nazism and fascism were discussed in detail, and further steps to improve this work were agreed upon. The participants of the event assessed the work on preserving the historical memory of the tragedy of the civilian population of the USSR - victims of war crimes of the Nazis and their accomplices during the Great Patriotic War, as well as on identifying facts of modern genocide and prosecuting those guilty of committing them.

Thus, irrefutable documentary evidence was obtained of the deliberate, pre-planned extermination of the civilian population by political, economic and military leadership of Nazi Germany in order to destroy the statehood of the Soviet Union and seize new territories for their subsequent colonization and exploitation.

Counteraction has been organized against the destructive activity in the information space aimed at the decomposition of Russian society, distortion of history, destabilization of the situation inside the country, propaganda and justification of neo-Nazi ideology, anti-Russian sentiment and Russophobia.

In conclusion, Igor Krasnov said that we and our Belarusian colleagues are united by a common understanding of threats, a unity of approaches and a sincere desire to achieve concrete, practical results in protecting traditional spiritual and moral values and perpetuating the memory of the victims of nazism and fascism.

"We must jointly, firmly and decisively stop any attempts to impose alien guidelines on the people of Russia and Belarus, to desecrate the memory of our fathers and grandfathers who performed an immortal feat," the Prosecutor General of Russia emphasized. "This is not just a professional task. This is our sacred duty to our ancestors and descendants. The history of cities like Suzdal, where every corner embodies the originality, strength of spirit of the people, their resilience and unity in confronting external threats, inspires us to this noble cause."

As part of the event, the Prosecutors General of the two countries signed orders approving the composition of the Joint Board and its secretariat for 2026.
