Igor Krasnov thanked Shavkat Mirziyoyev for the opportunity to meet in person, noting that the Prosecutor’s Offices of Russia and Uzbekistan are fruitfully interacting on a wide range of issues of protecting citizens’ rights and combating crime, implementing the course set by the leaders of the two countries.
The Prosecutor General of Russia informed the President of the Republic of the proposal voiced during the negotiations with his colleague to more actively use the practice of holding multilateral events in the most relevant areas of supervisory activity and to increase interaction in the educational sphere.
Igor Krasnov said about unity of views regarding the importance of establishing systematic cooperation between the CIS competent authorities in improving methods of combating modern criminal challenges.
Expressing confidence that the national experience of Uzbekistan can make significant contribution to the activities of law enforcement agencies on the anticorruption track and will be in demand throughout the CIS, the head of the Russian supervisory agency said that at the recent meeting on the Interstate Council on Combating Corruption, he invited the Director of the Anti-Corruption Agency of the Republic to fully join the work of the Council.
The Prosecutor General of Russia also highly appreciated the position of the Uzbek partners who supported the Russian initiative to develop the UN Comprehensive International Convention on Countering the Use of Information and Communications Technologies for Criminal Purposes. “The participation of Russia and Uzbekistan in the world’s first global international treaty of this format will secure our countries’ leading role in this area,” Igor Krasnov said.
In conclusion, the head of the Russian delegation expressed confidence that the cooperation between the supervisory agencies will expand and fully contribute to strengthening good neighbourly relations between the two countries, and also wished Shavkat Mirziyoyev success in solving state tasks, and peace and prosperity to the people of Uzbekistan.
