Igor Krasnov, during negotiations with Renson Ingonga, noted that Russia and Kenya have been linked by more than 60 years of diplomatic relations and expressed confidence that today’s event will lay the foundation for constructive contacts between law enforcement agencies.
The head of the Russian supervisory agency spoke about the powers vested in the Prosecutor’s Office and drew his colleague’s attention to “common points of contact.”
Igor Krasnov named professional training at the departmental University as one of the priority areas of work, on the basis of which not only Russian, but also foreign prosecutors improve their qualifications. In addition, for two years now the University has been providing preferential training for foreign citizens in higher education programs. The Prosecutor General of Russia said that a Memorandum of Understanding could become the legal basis for free education for Kenyan citizens, and invited his colleague to cooperate in this area.
Igor Krasnov also spoke about the successful experience of on-site educational events, where experts share best practices in prosecutorial work and countering modern forms of crime, and proposed organizing similar meetings in Kenya.
“We are ready to share with you the best practices in all areas of activity and, of course, we are interested in your experience,” the Prosecutor General of Russia said.
Igor Krasnov congratulated his colleague on his election to the post of President of the African Association of Prosecutors and informed that he is the Chairman of the Coordination Council of Prosecutors General of the Commonwealth of Independent States members. In this regard, he expressed his readiness to establish long-term interaction both between the agencies and regional associations of prosecutors on the basis of equality and respect for mutual interests.
