- The Prosecutor General's Office of the Russian Federation
At the beginning of the conversation, the Prosecutor General of Russia recalled that in October this year, on the sidelines of the BRICS Summit in Kazan, Russian President Vladimir Putin, at a meeting with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, emphasized that Russian-Turkish relations are of a good-neighborly constructive nature, based on many years of experience in partnership and friendship in a variety of fields.
“Adhering to the course set by our leaders, the Prosecutor’s Offices of Russia and Turkey are developing multifaceted cooperation on the law enforcement track. Well-established working and personal contacts allow us to quickly cooperate in matters of providing legal assistance in criminal cases and extradition, countering transnational organized crime, international terrorism, corruption, and illegal drug trafficking,” Igor Krasnov said.
The head of the Russian supervisory agency announced signing of the Memorandum of Cooperation between the University of the Prosecutor's Office of the Russian Federation and the Justice Academy of the Republic of Turkey, which will take place tomorrow. Igor Krasnov called the document, which allows for the regular exchange of best practices and improvement of the qualifications of prosecutors on the basis of departmental educational institutions, an important step in the development of bilateral relations.
“I hope that next year we will be able to start implementing it. We are waiting for your suggestions on areas of prosecutorial activity that are of greatest interest to our Turkish colleagues. In accordance with their wishes, Russian experts will prepare specialized training programs,” the Prosecutor General of Russia noted.
In conclusion, Igor Krasnov expressed confidence that the current meeting will be the next step towards strengthening close fruitful contacts, and wished professional success to all employees of the Prosecutor's Office of the Republic of Turkey.
