Upon the request of the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation the competent authorities of the Republic of Serbia will extradite Ara Bagdasaryan to bring him to justice in accordance with Article 322.1 part 2 paragraph “a” of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (organization of illegal transit through the territory of the Russian Federation of foreign citizens, committed by an organized group).
According to the investigation the accused, in the period up to November 11, 2021, together with his accomplices, organized illegal migration of foreigners for the purpose of making a profit. There were Indian citizens among them who wanted to immigrate to Mexico by illegal passing through the territory of the Russian Federation.
Bagdasaryan absconded from the law enforcement agencies. At the request of the Prosecutor General’s Office of Russia he was put on the international wanted list in July 2024.
The request for extradition was sent in connection with his arrest in October 2024 on the territory of Serbia.
Thanks to close cooperation between the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation and foreign colleagues, positive decision on extradition of Bagdasaryan was achieved.
The accused will be transferred to Moscow accompanied by the officers of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia and NCB Interpol.

Serbia extradites a person accused of organizing illegal migration
Upon the request of the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation the competent authorities of the Republic of Serbia will extradite Ara Bagdasaryan to bring him to justice in accordance with Article 322.1 part 2 paragraph “a” of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (organization of illegal transit through the territory of the Russian Federation of foreign citizens, committed by an organized group).
