On the eve of May 9, Russian Prosecutor General Igor Krasnov laid flowers at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in the Alexander Garden and honored the memory of those who died in the Great Patriotic War with a minute of silence.

The memorial ceremony was attended by Deputy Prosecutors General of the Russian Federation, heads of departments of the Prosecutor General's Office of Russia, the Main Military Prosecutor's Office, prosecutors of Moscow and the Moscow Region.

80 years ago, on April 25, the Great Victory was only 15 days ahead. At the exact same time, on the eve of the capitulation of Hitler's Germany, a historic meeting took place on the Elbe, and the encirclement ring around Berlin closed. The defeat of fascism was inevitable.
