Igor Krasnov met with Ramesh Badal, Attorney General of Nepal

Welcoming his foreign colleague, Igor Krasnov emphasized that Russia and Nepal have had diplomatic relations for over 60 years. During this time, friendly ties have been established between the countries based on the principles of mutual respect and trust. "Russian-Nepalese cooperation is developing in many areas, including economics, culture, tourism, and interparliamentary cooperation," the Russian Prosecutor General said. "I see significant potential for bilateral contacts in the law enforcement sphere as well."

The head of the Russian supervisory agency noted that today the entire world is facing criminal threats that can only be countered by consolidating efforts. This is especially true for transnational organized crime, cyber threats, terrorism, extremism, drug trafficking, and money laundering.

"I know that you also pay great attention to combating these challenges. A confirmation of this is the global conference on combating digital crime initiated by the Office of the Attorney General of Nepal, which took place in February in Kathmandu, - said Igor Krasnov. – On this occasion, I would like to congratulate you on its successful holding. My subordinates took part in this event as speakers and reported to me on the highest level of organization of this event."

The Russian Prosecutor General spoke about the key role of the Russian prosecutor's office in ensuring the rule of law and such an important area of ​​work as protecting business and the competitive environment. It was noted that sessions of the Prosecutor General's Office of the Russian Federation on the topic of protecting the rights of entrepreneurs and investors are organized at the sites of the annually held international economic forums under the patronage of the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin. At them, participants from all over the world discuss legal problems in this area and ways to overcome them.

"In this regard, dear Mr. Badal, I invite you to visit the Eastern Economic Forum, which will be held in early September in the city of Vladivostok, - suggested Igor Krasnov. – I am confident that your practical experience will be valuable for all participants of this large-scale event.”

The head of the Russian supervisory agency announced plans for the Prosecutors General of the two countries to sign a Memorandum of Understanding, the text of which is undergoing the final stage of approval. “This document will become the legal basis for our further cooperation on the widest range of issues of mutual interest, including the scientific and educational environment and the mutual holding of training events for prosecutors,” Igor Krasnov emphasized. Ramesh Badal, in his turn, expressed support for this initiative and confirmed the active work of his subordinates on the said document.

In conclusion, the Russian Prosecutor General expressed his commitment to the active development of cooperation between the agencies of the two countries.
