Welcoming Sar Sokha, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Interior of Cambodia, the Prosecutor General of Russia noted the positive dynamics of the development of bilateral cooperation. "Russian President Vladimir Putin characterized the relations between our countries as friendly and reliable," the head of the Russian supervisory agency emphasized. "This meeting also demonstrates the focus on the comprehensive strengthening of cooperation between Russia and Cambodia, which is actively developing in a wide range of areas, including cooperation in the law enforcement sphere."
Having familiarized the Deputy Prime Minister with the main powers of the Russian prosecutor's office, Igor Krasnov separately drew attention to the work being done to strengthen international legal cooperation, including in the area of combating cross-border crimes, expressing confidence that interaction in this area is an important component of interstate relations.

Igor Krasnov recalled the draft comprehensive Convention against Cybercrime approved by the UN General Assembly in December last year, the initiator and author of which was the Russian Prosecutor General's Office. The opening ceremony of the document for signing will take place in the fall in the capital of Vietnam.
"It is important that as many states as possible join this international treaty, and I am sure that Cambodia will be among its participants," said the head of the Russian supervisory agency.
Having emphasized the significant attention that the Prosecutor General's Office of Russia pays to improving the professional level and competencies of employees at the departmental University, Igor Krasnov noted good prospects for cooperation on the scientific and educational track.
"We have successful experience in conducting off-site educational events by our employees, where we share best practices in combating modern criminal threats, including terrorism, extremism, illegal drug and arms trafficking, money laundering, including the criminal use of cryptocurrencies," said the head of the Russian supervisory agency, proposing to join this format of interaction.
In conclusion, Igor Krasnov emphasized that the Russian prosecutor's office is open to professional dialogue on any issues, the work on which will help ensure the security of public and state interests.

“In addition to monitoring the income and expenses of officials, we have broad powers in the area of confiscation of corruption proceeds in civil proceedings,” the head of the Russian supervisory agency specified. “The prosecutor’s office also coordinates the activities of the entire law enforcement system in the fight against crime, including corruption.”
Igor Krasnov especially emphasized the role of Russian prosecutors within the framework of key international formats, including the UN, FATF, and the Global Operational Network of Anti-Corruption Law Enforcement Authorities, in this regard broadly assessing the prospects for developing close cooperation between experts, forming and promoting common positions on these and other platforms.
