Igor Krasnov expressed gratitude to Thongloun Sisoulith for the opportunity to meet in person.
"As was repeatedly noted during your negotiations with the President of Russia Vladimir Putin, the relations between our countries are mutually beneficial and have the status of a strategic partnership," the Prosecutor General of Russia emphasized.
"Following the set course, the delegation headed by me arrived in Vientiane with the aim of deepening bilateral contacts in the law enforcement sphere," the head of the Russian supervisory agency said.
Among the priority areas of cooperation, the Russian Prosecutor General named combating transnational organized crime, including in the digital environment, terrorism, extremism, drug trafficking, corruption and money laundering.
Igor Krasnov informed the President that Russian prosecutors supervise the observance of laws, coordinate the activities of all law enforcement agencies in the fight against crime, have broad competence in the human rights sphere, and also carry out comprehensive supervision to ensure the rule of law in the Armed Forces and the defense industry.
The Prosecutor General of Russia noted that his schedule includes meetings with colleagues from most ministries and agencies of the law enforcement authorities of Laos.
"I have no doubt that we will be able to reach agreements to strengthen cooperation on the widest range of issues of mutual interest, and their implementation will contribute to the further progressive development of Russian-Laotian relations," the head of the Russian supervisory agency emphasized.
At the end of the meeting, Igor Krasnov thanked Thongloun Sisoulith for the warm welcome, wished him success in solving important state tasks and achieving his goals, and wished the people of Laos well-being, peace and prosperity.
