In Donetsk, the prosecutor's office sent to court a criminal case against a mercenary from Brazil

The Prosecutor's Office of the Donetsk People's Republic has approved the indictment in the criminal case against 33-year-old citizen of the Federative Republic of Brazil Diniz de Carvalho Dantas Isak. He has been charged in absentia under Part 3 of Article 359 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (participation of a mercenary in an armed conflict).

According to the investigation, in the fall of 2023, Diniz arrived in Ukraine via the Polish border crossing, where he voluntarily joined the ranks of the “International Legion”. After undergoing military training on the territory of the training bases, he mastered the necessary skills to participate in an armed conflict, and  was provided with firearms. In January 2024, Diniz was transferred to the 59th Separate Assault Brigade named after Yakov Handzyuk of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, as part of which he had been taking part in combat operations against servicemen of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation until June 2024.

For these actions he received material compensation in the amount of more than 800 thousand rubles.

Diniz has been placed on the international wanted list, and the court has imposed upon him in absentia a preventive measure in the form of detention.

The criminal case has been sent to the Supreme Court of the Donetsk People's Republic for its consideration on the merits.
