Today, Mr. Igor Krasnov, Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation, has held a number of bilateral meetings with Mr. Kamran Aliyev, Prosecutor General of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Mr. Artur Davtyan, Prosecutor General of the Republic of Armenia, Mr. Kurmankul Zulushev, Prosecutor General of the Kyrgyz Republic, Mr. Ljubomir Joveski, Public Prosecutor of the Republic of North Macedonia, Mr. Maroš Žilinka, Prosecutor General of the Slovak Republic, Mr. Nigmatilla Yuldashev, Prosecutor General of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
Mr. Igor Krasnov thanked the guests for participating in the event and noted the need to intensify cooperation in order to fulfill the tasks which had been faced by the respective offices.
The Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation stressed that the contacts established had made it possible to increase the effectiveness of joint counteraction to criminal encroachments. ‘Meanwhile, taking into account the realities of the modern world, general globalization, the acceleration of migration processes and digitalization of the movement of capital, the methods and forms of the commission of crimes are being transformed, and virtual financial assets are increasingly becoming instruments of the commission of criminal offences, and the differences in national legal systems are being exploited to avoid statutory liability.
That is why the law enforcement authorities are required to take adequate and up-to-date measures to protect human rights, the interests of society and the State from such encroachments’.
The head of the supervisory authority underlined, ‘After all, our common ultimate goal is to ensure justice, bring culprits to justice, and protect the civil rights and legally protected interests of society and the State.’
Mr. Igor Krasnov told his foreign colleagues about the possibility of advanced training at the University of the Prosecution Service of the Russian Federation, having noted that such a form of interaction enabled to expand the opportunities for the exchange of both scientific knowledge and practical experience in resolving issues and problems that prosecutors faced on a daily basis.
In concluding the meetings, the Prosecutor General invited the heads of the respective offices to take part in the commemorative activities dedicated to the 300th anniversary of the establishment the Russian Prosecution Service scheduled for January 2022.
