Upon initiative of the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation, Nikita Doroshenko, Russian national, was deported from the People’s Republic of China. He is accused of perpetration of a crime, envisaged by Article 229.1 part 3 (smuggling of narcotic drugs on a large scale) of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.
According to the investigation, in the period from 12 to 18 May 2012, Mr. Doroshenko, who used to take narcotic drugs, having intent to smuggle narcotic drugs from the PRC to Russia, acquired not less than 20 grams of methamphetamine. Afterwards, on the customs spot DAPP “Tury Rog” of the Usuriysk Customs Service he hid the narcotic drug in his underwear and illegally transferred it through the customs border.
Criminal case was instituted by the Inquiry Division of the Far East Operative Customs Service and was investigated by the investigative service of the Department of the Federal Drug Control Service of the Russian Federation for the Primorye Territory.
Since Mr. Doroshenko was established on the territory of China, in November 2013, the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation sent to the RPC Ministry of Foreign Affairs a request for his extradition or deportation to Russia.
This August representatives of the Chinese party expressed readiness to hand over Mr. Doroshenko to the Russian law enforcement authorities within the framework of deportation procedure.
Today Mr. Doroshenko has been handed over to the Russian law enforcement authorities in the Sheremetevo airport of Moscow.
