National accused of murder organization is being extradited from Thailand to Russia

Upon demand of the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation, the competent authorities of the Kingdom of Thailand are extraditing Igor Guzhin to Russia. He is accused of committing a crime, provided for in Article 33 part 3, Article 105 part 2 paragraphs “g”, “h” of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.

According to the investigation, due to the redistribution of the spheres of influence in the funeral business in the territory of the city of Samara, Guzhin organized a murder of his acquaintance, who accused him of stealing monetary funds when conducting joint commercial activity.

Since Guzhin fled during trial stage, on 19.01.2021 he was put on international wanted list by order of the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation.

A request for his extradition was sent on 19.07.2021, as the person involved had been located in the territory of the Kingdom of Thailand.

As a result of accurate and coordinated actions of officials of the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation, for the first time in history of the Russian-Thai relations in the sphere of criminal proceedings, a decision on extradition of an accused has been achieved.

Escorted by special convoy, Igor Guzhin will be delivered to Russia.
