Meeting of the Prosecutor General of Russia and the Prosecutor General of Armenia took place in St. Petersburg

Today the Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation Igor Krasnov met with the Prosecutor General of the Republic of Armenia Anna Vardapetyan.

The previous meeting of Igor Krasnov with Anna Vardapetyan, who assumed office on September 15, 2022, took place in December last year in Moscow. Then the heads of the supervisory agencies of the two countries signed the next (seventh) cooperation program for 2023-2024, which is being successfully implemented.

Welcoming his foreign colleague, the Prosecutor General of Russia thanked her for accepting the invitation to join the work of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum.

“I am pleased to note that the agreements we reached last December are being actively implemented,” Igor Krasnov emphasized. – Work is underway to organize the training of Armenian prosecutors at the Faculty of Advanced Studies of the University of the Prosecutor's Office of Russia. I also confirm the readiness to accept Armenian citizens for training under the program of higher professional education at the St. Petersburg branch of the University.”

Igor Krasnov also focused on the successfully held educational events for military prosecutors in Yerevan with the participation of specialists from the Military University of the Russian Ministry of Defense, as well as the recently held first seminar within the framework of the signed cooperation program, which discussed the use of electronic evidence in criminal and civil proceedings.

The Prosecutor General of Russia emphasized that the set pace is fully consistent with the format of the multifaceted Russian-Armenian cooperation, determined by the leaders of the two states.

Igor Krasnov noted that he was aware of Anna Vardapetyan's principled attitude to any manifestations of corruption, as well as the ongoing large-scale work to recover assets, counteract the legalization of proceeds from crime. The head of the Russian supervisory agency expressed hope that the methodological materials of the Russian Prosecutor General's Office, handed over to the Armenian colleagues during the last meeting, were useful. He declared his readiness to continue joint work to improve the activities of the prosecutor's offices of Russia and Armenia for the benefit of the fraternal peoples of the two states.

“I was very pleased to learn about your decision to postpone the events planned in Yerevan in order to participate in the meeting of the Interstate Anti-Corruption Council, which will be held in July this year in Yekaterinburg,” Igor Krasnov noted. – I warmly appreciate your invitation to visit Yerevan to participate in the celebrations on the occasion of the 105th anniversary of the foundation of the General Prosecutor's Office of the Republic of Armenia. Hopefully my work schedule will give me that opportunity."

At the end of the meeting, the Prosecutor General of Russia thanked his colleague for the constructive approach to cooperation, adherence to the principles of professional ethics, independence and impartiality. “By your position, you demonstrate an example of strong Russian-Armenian friendship,” Igor Krasnov emphasized.
