Today in St. Petersburg, welcoming foreign guests at the next meeting in a trilateral format, Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation Igor Krasnov noted that holding it in the Tauride Palace, where many fateful decisions have been made over the past centuries, gives every chance of success.

The event was the fifth meeting held in such a format since 2021. The previous trilateral Russian-Armenian-Azerbaijani meeting took place in Moscow in December 2022, during which the heads of the prosecutor's offices of Russia, Armenia and Azerbaijan discussed the prospects for cooperation.

Highly appreciating the mutual readiness to continue the professional dialogue, Igor Krasnov thanked both parties for the constructive approach to establishing further cooperation.

“As you know, less than a month ago, another meeting of the Heads of our states took place. At it, the leaders of Azerbaijan, Armenia and Russia agreed to develop mutually acceptable solutions on a number of topical issues related to the normalization of the life support of the border region, Igor Krasnov emphasized. “In this regard, I consider it extremely important that we continue to maintain constant contacts, follow the course of implementing the agreements reached to fulfill the tasks of ensuring peace, security and sustainable economic development of the region, and stabilizing Azerbaijani-Armenian relations.”

The head of the Russian supervisory agency noted that such events serve as a clear example of a civilized way of solving even the most difficult tasks, contribute to achieving the goals of restoring law and order, normalizing the lives of the civilian population and preventing the emergence of new security threats. “In this regard, I propose to further synchronize our actions, using the entire human rights prosecutorial potential, focusing, first of all, on the interests of citizens,” Igor Krasnov said.

The Prosecutor General of Russia stressed: “I personally and all my subordinates, including military prosecutors deployed in the border area, will continue to provide the necessary assistance to ensure constructive interaction between the Azerbaijani and Armenian sides. At the same time, I see the prevention of an escalation of tension as the main task. I am sure that by joint efforts we will be able to create safe conditions for the harmonious development of the region and a decent life for all who live in it.”
