The Prosecutor General of Russia held a meeting with the Prosecutor General at the Supreme Court of Appeal of the Republic of Turkey

Today, the Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation Igor Krasnov met with the Prosecutor General at the Supreme Court of Appeal of the Republic of Turkey Bekir Sahin on the sidelines of the XXVI St. Petersburg International Economic Forum.

The previous meeting of the two Prosecutors General took place in Ankara in 2022. There, the heads of the prosecution services signed the Program of Cooperation for 2023-2024 which has been successfully implemented.

Welcoming the foreign colleague, Igor Krasnov thanked him for the consent to join the work of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum.

"Your speech at the session today aroused great interest among the professional community. The experience of Turkish prosecutors in protecting businesses will be very useful, especially in light of the positive dynamics of trade and economic relations between the two countries. And the joint efforts of the prosecution services in creating a "healthy business climate" will be an additional guarantee of ensuring a sustainable and stable future for our states," the head of the Russian supervisory authority noted.

Igor Krasnov recalled that the leaders of Russia and Turkey constantly note that relations between the two countries are developing constructively in a mutually beneficial way.

"I am pleased that our inter-prosecutorial cooperation in this direction is noticeably strengthening and expanding," the Prosecutor General of Russia said.

The head of the Russian supervisory agency emphasized that, in general, the Russian and Turkish approaches to countering modern threats coincide, which allows the agencies of the two countries to effectively cooperate in the fight against crime and the protection of citizens' rights.

At the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum session “Business under Protection: Further Efforts to Build a Favourable Business Climate” organized in cooperation with the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation, the Prosecutor General at the Supreme Court of Appeal of the Republic of Turkey Bekir Sahin delivered a report on the national experience in protection of the rights of entrepreneurs, including investors in the Turkish economy.
