The Supreme Court of the Republic of Crimea passed a sentence in the criminal case against 46-year-old resident of Kerch Taras Kovirnichenko. He was found guilty under Article 275 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (high treason).
It was established that in 2023, Kovirnichenko collected and transferred to an officer of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine the coordinates of the deployment of personnel, as well as military equipment of units of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation and Rosguard located in the Krasnodar Territory and the Republic of Crimea.
In addition, he provided information on the locations of border patrol ships and boats in Kerch.
The transferred data could have been used by the Armed Forces of Ukraine against the security of the Russian Federation.
The court agreed with the state prosecutor’s opinion on Taras Kovirnichenko’s guilt and sentenced him to 16 years of imprisonment in a strict regime correctional colony with restriction of freedom for a period of 1 year and 6 months, as well as a fine of 400 thousand rubles.

Conviction in a criminal case of high treason
The Supreme Court of the Republic of Crimea passed a sentence in the criminal case against 46-year-old resident of Kerch Taras Kovirnichenko. He was found guilty under Article 275 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (high treason).
