Welcoming H.H. Sheikh Saif Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Igor Krasnov called the meeting with him a demonstration of mutual focus on strengthening Russian-UAE ties, reflecting the level of strategic partnership between our countries, which was discussed by the Presidents of Russia and the UAE in October this year in Moscow.

The head of the Russian supervisory agency said that the Prosecutor’s Office has a wide range of powers in law enforcement and human rights spheres. Considerable attention is paid to strengthening international cooperation, including in combating cross-border crimes.

“I believe that in order to solve these problems, it is important to increase both bilateral contacts and join forces at various international platforms, including BRICS and G20,” the Prosecutor General of Russia said.

Igor Krasnov recalled that in order to strengthen BRICS potential in security issues, the meeting of BRICS Prosecution Services Heads was held in June this year in Saint Petersburg, during which agreements were reached with the Attorney General of the United Arab Emirates Hamad Saif Al Shamsi on the exchange of experience in combating digital crime, terrorism, corruption, and laundering of proceeds of crime.

“Together with the UAE party we are working on an initiative to conclude a multilateral agreement on the interaction of BRICS Prosecution Services in the field of recovering assets of criminal origin,” Igor Krasnov said.

At the end of the meeting he expressed his readiness for long-term constructive cooperation, taking into account common goals in combating crime issues.
