Igor Krasnov arrived on a working visit to Tashkent

He was met at the plane's ramp by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to Uzbekistan Oleg Malginov and the Prosecutor General of the Republic of Uzbekistan Nigmatilla Yuldashev.

The visit of the head of the Russian supervisory agency took place at the invitation of his foreign colleague. In Tashkent, heads of Prosecutor's Offices will discuss key issues of bilateral cooperation, exchange views to develop further joint decisions to improve mechanisms for protecting the citizens’ rights and combating crime.

The day before, representatives of the Prosecutor General's Office of Russia at the site of the Law Enforcement Academy of Uzbekistan shared with local prosecutors and university teaching staff their best practices in supervisory and anti-criminal activities.

For information: the beginning of interaction between the Prosecutor's Offices of Russia and Uzbekistan was laid more than 10 years ago in Tashkent on the basis of the Agreement on Cooperation signed on the sidelines of the 12th Meeting of the Prosecutors General of the SCO Member States. The heads of the supervisory agencies of the two countries meet regularly at various platforms in both bilateral and multilateral formats. During the visit of Igor Krasnov to Tashkent in September 2021, the Program for 2021–2023 was signed. The next document aimed at further strengthening interagency Russian-Uzbek cooperation was approved by the heads of Prosecutors’ Offices in April 2024 in Moscow. In addition, in September of the same year, within the framework of the 9th Meeting of the Interstate Council Countering Corruption, Igor Krasnov, during a meeting with the Director of the Anti-Corruption Agency of Uzbekistan Akmal Burkhanov, noted the high level of contacts between Russian and Uzbek prosecutors.
