The Prosecutor General's Office of the Russian Federation has granted the request of the Oversight ant Anti-Corruption Authority (Nazaha) of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to extradite Abdullah bin Awadh Aidah Al-Harthy making him criminally liable under the Anti-Bribery and Anti-Money Laundering Laws of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
In October-December 2022, as an employee of the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and also after dismissal from the Ministry, in a preliminary conspiracy with other persons, for monetary compensation received from intermediaries, he organized the illegal entry into the computer system of a government agency of false information about the labor and migration status of more than a thousand foreign citizens, which resulted in their illegal stay on the territory of the country.
He legalized the funds received as a result of the committed crime in the amount of more than 4 million Saudi riyals (over 79 million rubles).
In February 2024 the law enforcement authorities of Saudi Arabia put the accused on the international wanted list. After his arrest on the territory of the Russian Federation in May 2024, the court chose a preventive measure in the form of detention against him.
The decision of the Russian Prosecutor General's Office to extradite Abdullah bin Awadh Aidah Al-Harthy has entered into legal force, and therefore the Federal Penitentiary Service, in cooperation with the National Central Bureau of Interpol of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, has been assigned to transfer him to representatives of the law enforcement authorities of Saudi Arabia.
The procedure became possible thanks to the cooperation between the Prosecutor General's Office of the Russian Federation and the competent authorities of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
