The forum is dedicated to preserving the memory of the tragic events of the Great Patriotic War of 1941–1945.
Prosecutor General of Russia Igor Krasnov sent a welcoming message to the participants of the event, where he noted that the Prosecutor's Office, together with other agencies, is taking measures to establish the circumstances of the crimes committed by the Nazis against civilians. Prosecutors ensure that applications are sent to the courts to recognize such acts as war crimes, crimes against humanity and genocide of the peoples of the Soviet Union.
The message clarifies that during the occupation, the Nazis killed more than 7 million 300 thousand people from among prisoners of war and civilians, including more than 18 thousand children, and about 2 million Soviet citizens were driven into Nazi slavery.
