At the request of the Prosecutor General's Office of the Russian Federation, the competent authorities of Montenegro are extraditing Stanislav Rubtsov to face criminal charges under Article 159 parts 3 and 4 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (fraud committed on a large and especially large scale).
According to the investigation, in the period from 2017 to 2021 the accused, through deception, committed the theft of funds and property totaling more than 25 million rubles.
Rubtsov absconded from law enforcement agencies. At the request the Russian Prosecutor General's Office, in July 2024 he was put on the international wanted list.
The request for extradition was sent in connection with his detention in September 2024 on the territory of Montenegro.
Thanks to the close cooperation between the Prosecutor General's Office of the Russian Federation and foreign colleagues, it was possible to achieve a positive decision on the extradition of Rubtsov.
Accompanied by employees of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia and the National Central Bureau of Interpol, the accused will be brought to Moscow in transit through the Republic of Turkey.
